• Ad-hoc interpreting: Suitable for small meetings such as a solicitor appointment or hospital visit.

• Consecutive Interpreting: The spoken  transfer (by an interpreter on behalf of a speaker, for the comprehension of one or more listeners) of meaning from one language to another, either after the speaker has finished speaking, or during appropriate pauses in the speaker’s speech.  This is common in small conferences or group discussions.

• Simultaneous Interpreting: The spoken transfer (by an interpreter on behalf of a speaker, for the comprehension of one or more listeners, at normal voice levels) of meaning from one language to another, while the speaker is speaking.  This is common at large multinational meetings where proceedings are interpreted with a 2-3 second delay such as court proceedings.
  
  
• Whispered Interpreting: The spoken transfer (by an interpreter, on behalf of a speaker; at lowered but audible voice level; and usually for the comprehension, and directly into the ear, of a single listener) of meaning from one language to another, while the speaker is speaking.  This is common in a seminar or court proceedings.
